Spread the Dough

My name is Melina and I am 18 years old. I reside in New Hampshire but have been attending boarding school in Connecticut since my freshman year of high school. I will be a rising senior and hope to go to school for International Development and Human and Organization Development, I hope to focus in the Middle East.

I have been involved in community service since I was eight years old. I started out small, simple serving the homeless. However, soon I became empathetic of those who suffer and felt an urge to do more. In the early stages I used the holidays as a time to find ways to serve by wrapping gifts to raise money, heading up toy drives, and cooking feasts. I decided to do more during the rest of the year and got involved with City Year, The Salvation Army, and Crossroads Homeless Shelter. In the past 10 years I have invested over 3,000 hours into helping the homeless population. I am passionate about what I do and hope to one day lead people out of poverty through teaching them self-sufficiency.
